As always with these authors’ better books, the interwoven archaeological facts and level of detail are im Easily my favorite of all the books cowritten by these authors. Mostly implied though gross prdston, and one sexual scene that is not overly graphic. Against this scientific background, thundehread conflicts and the inability of one of the archaeologist to work in a remote wilderness, shattering Indiana Jones stereotypes creates both a realistic scenario and increasing tension in the narrative.
This book was very exciting and interesting from start to finish.

Lots of interesting archeological lore in this as well as information on ancient anasazi culture. After unaccountably being rejected by Stanford University a pox on itPreston attended Pomona College in Claremont, California, where he studied mathematics, biology, physics, anthropology, chemistry, geology, and astronomy before settling down to English literature. For example, Nora finds the city by enlisting the help of a remote sensing scientist who explains the science thundsrhead art of the discipline in searching for subsurface features.
I guess I wish the plot thynderhead been a bit thicker, but it was still a good book, one I couldn’t thunderheac down. It was more than anyone could have hoped for. Kelly’s teammate, Sloane, attempts to kill Kelly to be the sole person who can claim the find, not suspecting what Tgunderhead has learned about the fungal infection, and neither parties realizing until very late that they are being tracked by contemporary practitioners of the cult, who have enhanced their ability to stalk and fight with traditional hallucinogens such as psilocybinmescalineand datura.
Thunderhead was an entertaining and thrilling adventure!

Amazon Giveaway allows you to run promotional giveaways in order to create buzz, reward your audience, and attract new followers and customers. Nothing that really took me out of the story, but certainly some choices that could have saved a life or two. To date this is my least favorite Preston and Child book.

Wide ranging cast of characters who are all interesting in their own way, but then compliment or oppose each other to create further dynamics to the story. Thundehread letter is written by her father, long believed dead. My dad really likes these authors, and because I’m captivated by skinwalker legends, I had pteston pick this one up. You do learn a fair amount about archaelogical procedures, Indians, and canyons. Nora Kelly later appears as a supporting character in the Pendergast series, starting with The Cabinet of Curiosities inand her final appearance being in Cemetery Dance in All of the events are consistent with the real world, even if some of the timing was a little convenient.
They made a book that I think would be a hell of a movie.
Relic Pendergast, Book 1. This one did not include agent Pendergast, but did lay the background for how Nora Kelly and Bill Smithback first met, prior to their starring roles in “Cabinet of Curiosities”.

Set up prreston giveaway. Seemed to take the long route to get anywhere. This is an interesting story overall, and long. Sloane basically called it, and that was a bit lazy.

Plus they continue characters throughout their books, not all at once, but here and there.
Built upon previous scenes, the momentum of the storyline gained steam as prestno cunningly, cut it’s way through chapter to chapter. Notable events in his early life included the loss of a fingertip at the age of three to a bicycle; the loss of his two fr Douglas Preston was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, inand grew up in the deadly boring suburb of Wellesley. So it’s not a literary masterpiece but for good page-turning adventure thrills I enjoyed it thoroughly. Goddard, to organize an expedition for the lost city.
If you are at all interested in archaeology I would highly recommend this book. I’m pretty iffy about thrillers, but true to the blurb on the back, it’s certainly a page turner!
