This book covers a lot of theory, but what is worse is that you have to wait till the end of a chapter to see the problem sets which can easily mean pages of theory before you see your first problem. The Logic of Science.

Crisp and clean introduction. If you want to self-study using this book then make sure you have a lot of time on your hands. Its sections on simulation in R, emphasis on common student mistakes and misconceptions, story-like presentation, and illuminating visualizations provide a comprehensive, well-written textbook that I would consider using in my own probability course.
